Courte description:
Baiersdorf bridge is situated on Main-Danube Canal, near Norimberg, Germany. It consists of two girders and the deck. The bridge is 56 meters long and 9 meters large.
Objectifs de contrôle:
The aim of monitoring is to increase the knowledge concerning the structural behaviour of this bridge, to increase safety and reduce maintenance costs. In the 1990 during the Load-carrying test for the Safety Evaluation some cracks occurred in the middle of the bridge. 6 standard SOFO sensors and 4 thermocouple had been installed in order to periodically monitor the condition of the structure.
Nombre de capteurs:
10
Résultats:
All the sensors had been installed on the surface of the girders and they are working properly. After the installation a loading test with a truck had been performed successfully. Periodical reading are performed in long-term in order to discover deviations from the expected structural performance or damage in time.
