Courte description:

Historic bridge in the Columbia river area. Due to increasing loads from tourist busses the bridge was strengthened by a composite wrapping.

Objectifs de contrôle:

Two SOFO sensors were surface installed in addition to a number of Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors embedded in the composite. The sensor measure the flexure and the shear components of the strain.

The SOFO sensors are installed periodically under the bridge in conjunction with the load tests that are performed to verify the structural response of the wrapped beams
